Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein met today, Tuesday, British Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development James Cleverly, at the headquarters of the British Foreign Office in London.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed Iraq's role in the framework of promoting regional stability and bringing views closer among the countries of the region, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Iraq's readiness to continue efforts to reduce tension in the region.
The meeting also included a discussion of ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in light of security stability, the approval of the general budget, and the government's intention to translate that into service and reconstruction programmes.
The Foreign Minister called for intensifying cooperation in the fields of education, health, business sectors, industries, agriculture and others.
For his part, Minister Cleverly welcomed the Iraqi government's efforts in the field of economic reform, stressing the Kingdom's readiness to provide support to Iraq in all areas it needs.
