Madaba: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin on Tuesday met representatives of the tourism sector, local associations, and community members at the Madaba Institute for Mosaic Art and Restoration to discuss the main challenges facing the governorate's tourism industry. Hijazin highlighted Madaba's importance as a leading tourist destination, citing its rich historical, religious, and cultural assets, along with the ministry's initiatives to enhance infrastructure and services.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hijazin emphasized efforts to explore new tourism markets in Asia, Africa, and the Arab world. He also discussed plans to strengthen partnerships with municipalities, universities, and local institutions to reinforce Madaba's position as a global hub for mosaic art. During his visit, the minister engaged with tourists to gather feedback on their experiences, underscoring that visitors' opinions are crucial for shaping tourism products that align with expectations and further solidify Jordan's reputation as a favored travel destination.
Hijazin also listened to proposals from sector workers and associations, affirming the ministry's dedication to involving local communities in tourism projects to support income growth and job creation. He assured that the ministry would continue to address these suggestions through ongoing visits to the governorate.
