Amman: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Ennab, announced that the ministry has adopted an "integrated" policy designed to fulfill the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision. This policy is focused on establishing a "suitable" tourist environment to attract more visitors to Jordan.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ennab made these remarks during a session with the Senate's Finance and Economic Committee, led by Dr. Rajai Muasher, to discuss the ministry's strategy and budget. Ennab emphasized that the ministry's strategy aligns with the Royal Letter of Designation, which directs the government to bolster the tourism sector's economic contribution by enhancing tourist products, improving services, and promoting medical tourism.
The strategy, as noted by Ennab, intends to implement "effective" marketing campaigns, mitigate the effects of seasonal tourism, increase resilience, and facilitate travel through low-cost transport options. Additional plans include ongoing efforts to train human resources within the ministry, in accordance with the Public Sector Modernization Plan. The strategy also aims to involve women and people with disabilities in tourism-related roles and engage local communities in tourism activities.
Ennab highlighted that the ministry's goals also focus on preserving Jordan's heritage, improving and restoring archaeological sites, and seeking their registration on the Islamic and World Heritage List.
