Petra: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin and Chief Commissioner of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Fares Braizat recently visited the archaeological site in Petra to evaluate tourist activity and the services provided to global visitors.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visit was part of a continued effort to monitor the tourism sector and enhance the visitor experience at this significant heritage site. The officials also visited the Crowne Plaza Petra hotel, which has undergone a renovation and upgrade. Their tour included the archaeological reserve and the Nabataean cultural village, where they assessed the services offered to visitors, as well as the organization and guidance available to ensure a comprehensive and safe tourism experience.
Hijazin expressed contentment with the resurgence of tourist activity in Petra, attributing the increase to the confidence of both international and domestic visitors in the site's capacity to deliver a unique tourism experience. He emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration with the PDTRA to effectively organize tourism services and maintain the quality of the visitor experience.
Braizat highlighted that current tourist activity at the site is robust and promising, expressing optimism that this momentum will persist through the upcoming months and until the end of the next tourism season. He also noted the PDTRA's commitment to improving the tourism work environment and upgrading the services and infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience and elevate the overall standard of tourism services in Petra.
