Amman: The trade volume between Jordan and Qatar surged to JD118 million during the first half of the year, a significant increase from JD64 million during the same period last year, as reported by the Department of Statistics.
According to Jordan News Agency, Jordan's exports to Qatar were valued at JD58 million, up slightly from JD53 million in the corresponding period last year. In contrast, the Kingdom's imports from Qatar saw a substantial rise, reaching JD60 million compared to JD11 million during the same timeframe last year.
Jordan's exports comprised a variety of goods, including fresh and processed food items, vegetables and fruits, dates, cheese and dairy, meat, poultry, grains, sweets, rice, juices, nuts, oils, pickles, herbs, honey, frozen poultry, eggs, and coffee. On the import side, Qatar supplied Jordan with chemicals such as motor oils, sulfonyl acid, aluminum ingots, paraffin, polyethylene, iron rods, chemical fertilizers, plastic bags, car engine oils, organic fertilizers, and medical solutions.
