Transport Minister and Industry Leaders Tackle Tourist Transport Challenges

Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Qatamin met with the president and members of the Jordan Tourist Transport Association to discuss the current state of the tourist transport sector and the operational and regulatory challenges facing companies in the industry.

According to Jordan News Agency, representatives of the sector provided a comprehensive overview of the key issues affecting tourist transport companies, particularly those related to regulatory procedures, fees, licensing, and operating requirements. They also highlighted the impact of rising operating costs on the sector's competitiveness and the quality of services provided.

Qatamin emphasized the importance of the tourist transport sector as a key contributor to both the national economy and Jordan's tourism industry. He stressed the need for ongoing development of the sector and enhancing its operational efficiency to improve service quality and strengthen Jordan's appeal as a tourist destination.

The minister assured that the ministry would address the concerns raised through a practical approach focused on simplifying procedures, reducing burdens on operators, and encouraging investment in the sector while maintaining safety standards and service quality.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and coordination between the ministry and industry representatives. This collaboration aims to regularly follow up on sector-related issues and work toward gradual solutions to existing challenges within available resources, ensuring the sustainable operation of tourist transport companies.
