Turkish Stock Exchange Closes Lower on Tuesday

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, concluded Tuesday's trading session at 9,514.01 points, marking a 1.60% decrease from its previous closing value.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index began the day at 9,666.18 and experienced a decline of 154.35 points from the prior close. The day's trading witnessed a low of 9,514.01 and a high of 9,683.25. In terms of market performance, 72 indexes recorded a loss in value, while 27 managed to close the day with gains.

The total transaction volume for the day was 98.7 billion Turkish liras, equating to approximately $2.54 billion. The overall market value of the index was 8.68 trillion Turkish liras, or $224.93 billion. Currency exchange rates showed the USD/TRY at 38.8305, EUR/TRY at 43.7565, and GBP/TRY at 51.9365 by 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).

Commodity prices included gold at $3,281.30 per ounce, and Brent oil was priced at $64.60 per barrel.
