Turkish Stock Exchange Index Reaches Record High with 1.77% Increase

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at a new all-time high of 11,702 points, surging 1.77% from the previous close.

According to Anadolu Agency - English, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index began the new week at 11,547.72 points, climbing 203.62 points from Friday's close. Throughout the day, the index's lowest value was recorded at 11,510.19, while its highest reached 11,726.18 points.

The trading day saw 67 stocks on the index rise, while 27 fell compared to the previous close. The total market value of BIST 100 was approximately 11.56 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $269.6 billion, with a daily trading volume of 144.7 billion Turkish liras or $3.36 billion.

Additionally, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,450.10, and Brent crude oil was priced around $61.10 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). On the currency front, the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.0310, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 50.3650, and the British pound traded for 58.0615 Turkish liras.
