Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, Borsa Istanbul, began Friday trading at 11,296.52 points, marking a rise of 0.31% or 35 points from its previous close.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced a 0.37% increase on Wednesday, closing at 11,261.52 points with a daily trading volume of 112.6 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $2.62 billion. The stock markets remained closed on Thursday due to New Year's day celebrations.
As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the exchange rate for the US dollar against the Turkish lira was 43.0285, while the euro and British pound stood at 50.4550 and 57.9890 Turkish liras, respectively. In the commodities market, the price for one ounce of gold was $4,376.30, and Brent oil was priced at approximately $61.15 per barrel.
