UAE and Slovak Republic Hold First Round of Political Consultations

Bratislava: The first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Slovak Republic took place in Bratislava, co-chaired by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, and Marek E…¡tok, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. This meeting marked a significant step in the bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to Emirates News Agency, the consultations followed the recent visit of Prime Minister Robert Fico to Abu Dhabi, emphasizing the strong bilateral partnership. Both parties explored multiple sectors for cooperation, focusing on enhancing trade, unlocking investment opportunities, and exploring civilian nuclear energy cooperation.

The discussions noted the significant growth in non-oil bilateral trade, which rose by a third, surpassing USD 1 billion in 2024. Additionally, there was a notable increase in bilateral foreign direct investment flows, further cementing economic ties.

Furthermore, the two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on regional and international developments, particularly concerning the Middle East and Europe. The consultations underscored the importance of ongoing dialogue to tackle regional challenges and promote international stability. Both nations committed to maintaining regular consultations to advance shared objectives for the mutual benefit of their people.
