London: British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on Wednesday called for increasing and expediting the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of reopening the Rafah crossing and facilitating the work of international organizations following the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement.
According to Jordan News Agency, Cooper announced that the United Kingdom has allocated £74 million to support humanitarian efforts, with £20 million specifically designated to improve water and sanitation services in the enclave. She emphasized Britain's commitment to working with its partners to advance the second phase of the peace initiative.
Cooper underscored the necessity of delivering humanitarian assistance and strengthening efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
