Amman: The UK government has opened applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarship program, offering fully funded study opportunities at British universities. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 6.
According to Jordan News Agency, the British Embassy in Amman stated that the prestigious program offers one-year, fully funded master's degrees to candidates with the potential to become future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion leaders, and to make a lasting contribution to their communities and beyond.
Scholarship recipients will join a global network of emerging leaders and gain access to British academic and professional networks, knowledge, and shared values, supporting their efforts to address global challenges and contribute to sustainable development, the embassy noted.
British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, emphasized the considerable talent of Jordanian youth, adding that Chevening provides some of the country's promising young people the opportunity to pursue internationally recognized degrees in the UK. "If you are ready to take the next step and make a real difference, we look forward to seeing your applications," Hall remarked.
The embassy explained that candidates are selected not only based on their achievements but also for their leadership potential, ability to build meaningful relationships, and commitment to creating lasting impact in their communities and globally.
By providing access to UK education, professional networks, and expertise, the program seeks to equip future leaders with the skills and connections to work together on common international challenges, according to the statement.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to consider Chevening's vision and objectives and assess how their experience and aspirations align with the impact sought by the program's global community.
Applications can be submitted through the Chevening website at chevening.org/apply. Candidates are advised to review the program's vision and available resources before applying and to assess their readiness to submit a competitive application.
Since its inception in 1983, more than 60,000 professionals have benefited from Chevening in advancing their careers, according to the statement.
Chevening is the UK government's global scholarship program, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations. It supports one-year master's degree programs at British universities.
Chevening alumni hail from more than 140 countries and territories, forming a global network of over 60,000 graduates, the statement said.
