Ukraine and US Explore Free Trade Zone and Investment Opportunities

Kyiv: Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Thursday that he had a meeting with US Charge d'Affaires ad interim to Ukraine, Julie Davis, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations. The discussions focused on establishing a free trade zone and encouraging American investment in Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, Shmyhal expressed his gratitude to Davis on her new appointment and extended his thanks to "all Americans, President Donald Trump, the US Congress, and the US Administration" for their continued support of Ukraine in the face of Russian "aggression."

Shmyhal emphasized the mutual commitment to creating a free trade zone between Ukraine and the US, underscoring the significant role American companies could play in Ukraine's reconstruction efforts. He also highlighted the importance of financial assistance provided by the US and expressed Ukraine's eagerness for increased engagement with American investors.
