Cairo: The United Nations reiterated on Monday its opposition to the forcible displacement of Gaza's residents, describing it as a form of ethnic cleansing. UN spokesperson St©phane Dujarric stated, "We have seen the clear opposition to this plan from Egypt, Jordan, and the Arab League," emphasizing that the UN will, "of course, oppose any plan that leads to the forcible displacement of people or any form of ethnic cleansing."
According to Jordan News Agency, the UN's stance comes amidst a backdrop of regional opposition to any initiatives that would result in the displacement of Gaza's population. Egypt, Jordan, and the Arab League have expressed clear disapproval of such plans, aligning with the UN's position against actions that may lead to ethnic cleansing. The international body remains committed to safeguarding the rights and residence of Gaza's people in their homeland.
