University of Jordan Achieves New Milestone with 69 Internationally Accredited Programs

Amman:The University of Jordan (UJ) has increased its number of internationally accredited academic programs to 69. This development comes as its Bachelor of Land, Water, and Environment program in the School of Agriculture received international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), based in the United States.

According to Jordan News Agency, the university's King Abdullah II School of Information Technology has also renewed its ABET accreditation for the Computer Information Systems program. This achievement is part of UJ's strategic efforts to enhance academic curricula, align educational outcomes with international standards, and improve the competitiveness of its graduates in both local and global job markets.

The accreditation was granted following a thorough evaluation process that assessed study plans, faculty qualifications, laboratory infrastructure, and learning outcomes, ensuring they meet recognized international academic and professional standards.

With this achievement, the School of Agriculture now boasts five internationally accredited programs, and the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology has three. There are plans to conduct field evaluation visits for three additional IT programs soon.

The University of Jordan emphasized that expanding its internationally accredited programs underscores its commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, sustainable academic growth, and leadership in the region's higher education sector.
