Amman: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned Wednesday that the health sector in the Gaza Strip is in a dire condition amid the ongoing Israeli genocide.
According to Jordan News Agency, the refugee agency stated that 45 percent of basic medical supplies had run out, with about a quarter of that quantity expected to last only six weeks. This shortage comes at a time when stocks of vital medicines and blood units are nearing depletion, exacerbating the pressing needs in the region.
The situation has been further compounded by the Israeli occupation army's decision to close Gaza's crossings to food, relief, medical aid, and goods since March 2. This blockade has caused a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation, leaving the residents of Gaza in a precarious position.
