Washington: US Special Presidential Envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack condemned recent Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Duhur military airbase in Idlib, Syria, on Tuesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Barrack expressed deep concerns, stating that the confirmed Israeli airstrikes on Abu al-Duhur Airbase represent an unnecessary escalation that does not contribute to regional stability. He shared his views through a post on X.
Barrack further noted that the Syrian government has shown interest in de-escalation rather than hostility, indicating a preference for peaceful solutions. He emphasized that the US remains committed to facilitating talks aimed at encouraging dialogue over military actions in the region.
