Vatican Announces Funeral Arrangements for Pope Francis

Vatican City: The Vatican announced that the funeral of Pope Francis will be held next Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Peter's Square.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Office of Papal Liturgical Celebrations stated that the funeral rites will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals. Following the Eucharistic celebration, final commendation and farewell rites will take place before the coffin is carried into St. Peter's Basilica. It will then be transferred to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, where the burial will occur.

The office noted that several heads of state and government have expressed their intention to attend the ceremony.
