Amman: Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) Ahmad Gharaibeh announced that the employment rate among the corporation's graduates has reached 62 percent, showcasing the effectiveness of its training programs. These programs are designed to meet the needs of various productive sectors and align with the evolving landscape of professions.
According to Jordan News Agency, Gharaibeh spoke at a Government Communication Forum session, emphasizing the enrollment of over 12,000 trainees in VTC's programs this year. He highlighted that the corporation offers 138 training programs, with 90 percent updated to meet local and regional labor market demands. This includes 35 new programs in emerging technical and vocational fields to ensure training relevance to real-world employment needs.
As of early October, 52,130 applicants had registered for vocational training, with 24,653 accepted based on admission criteria. Gharaibeh noted that 22 new training projects have been launched since the beginning of the year. The VTC aims to modernize its training environment by qualifying trainers annually and establishing new workshops and specialized centers, such as the Ramtha workshop and the Jewelry and Gemstone Training Center, to enhance hands-on training to international standards.
Gharaibeh emphasized a shift in focus from merely "training hands" to "training minds," preparing graduates to meet labor market demands for creativity, specialized skills, and adaptability. On digital transformation, the VTC is advancing toward service automation through the "Sanad" platform and integrating virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3D simulation technologies into training.
The VTC places a special emphasis on Centers of Excellence across the Kingdom, developing vocational training to prepare skilled national talent. The corporation hosts several specialized centers, including the Cisco Technology Academy and the Jordanian-German Automotive Technology Center. It recently launched the Jordanian Center for Jewelry and Gemstones in Abu Nseir and the Salt Handicraft Center, with plans to open the Agricultural Technology Institute and the Green Professions Center by 2028.
Gharaibeh outlined the corporation's main tasks under the Economic Modernization Vision, which include providing vocational training opportunities for job seekers across all age and education levels. This involves training-to-employment programs with the private sector and skill qualification programs for international labor markets. The VTC also focuses on remote work programs and digital trade training in partnership with Jordan Post.
He highlighted ongoing cooperation with the private sector through training-to-employment agreements, apprenticeship programs, and joint development of training standards to meet market needs. The VTC continues to expand its international presence through the upcoming Jordanian-Moroccan Center of Excellence and achieving European Training Foundation accreditation for nine institutes.
The German Vocational Training Program Partnerships for Training, Development, and Labor Migration has been successful, enrolling 500 young Jordanians. Of these, 38 passed the P1 German language level, and 12 are now working in Germany under apprenticeship programs.
Zaid Nawaiseh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication, noted the VTC's Royal support and its role in empowering youth with skills for employment. He highlighted the corporation's achievements under the Economic Modernization Vision and its strategic partnerships with public and private institutions.
On women's empowerment, Lina Shanior, Director of Business Development at the VTC, stated that the corporation's efforts align with national initiatives to increase women's workforce participation. The VTC provides transportation allowances and organizes community-based training programs, with women accounting for 42 percent of trainees across 33 centers.
Shanior also highlighted inclusive training environments for persons with disabilities, with the Russeifa Institute serving as a successful model. VTC's Director of Communication and Media, Jaafar Rousan, emphasized the corporation's aim to reduce unemployment and boost economic growth through decent work.
Ramzi Hroub, Director of Curricula, Programs, and Examinations, explained that the National Qualifications Framework supports lifelong learning and bridges the skills gap between education outputs and labor market demands.
