New york: Major U.S. stock indices rose on Monday, while crude prices remained stable as investors monitored the latest economic data and geopolitical developments.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 301 points higher, or 0.63%, closing at 48,218. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 280 points, or 1.22%, ending the session at 23,183, driven by a strong performance in the technology sector.
The benchmark S and P 500 index also experienced an upward trend, rising 69 points, or 1.01%, to close at 6,886. In energy markets, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, the U.S. benchmark, settled at $97.89 per barrel, remaining largely unchanged as supply concerns were balanced by a shifting demand outlook.
Market analysts noted that the gains in equities reflect a renewed appetite for risk, though investors remain cautious amid ongoing discussions regarding global trade and regional stability.
