Water Ministry Dismantles 14 New Water Thefts in Southern Shuna

Southern shuna: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in collaboration with pertinent authorities, has launched a campaign in the Southern Shuna district, uncovering 14 illegal connections to the main 6-inch water pipeline servicing the Al-Rama area.

According to Jordan News Agency, these unlawful connections, each having a 1-inch diameter, were installed to unlawfully divert water. The stolen water was used to supply farms and chalets, filling ponds and consequently diverting significant amounts of water from the drinking water quotas allocated to citizens. Following the detection and removal of these illegal connections, the ministry prepared necessary reports for referral to relevant authorities to pursue legal action against the violators.

The ministry announced its intention to continue the crackdown on water theft across various regions. It also expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior, the Public Security Directorate, security agencies, and citizens in addressing these incidents of water theft.
