Water Theft from Main Pipeline Detected in Northern Jordan Valley

Northern jordan valley: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority has uncovered illegal activities involving a main water pipeline in the Northern Jordan Valley. In collaboration with the Yarmouk Water Company, Water Authority teams identified unauthorized connections to farms and homes from a 4-inch main pipeline. This is part of an ongoing effort to combat water theft throughout the Kingdom, as stated by the ministry.

According to Jordan News Agency, the authorities have terminated these illegal connections and will be filing official reports with the relevant authorities for legal proceedings. The ministry has pledged to continue such operations across the Kingdom in collaboration with other agencies.

The ministry also highlighted that the amended Water Law imposes severe penalties for encroachment on national water resources, including several years of imprisonment and fines of up to JD10,000.
