Everyone knows the government makes mistakes, and that includes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Sometimes ICE wrongly picks up people who are U.S. citizens, or denies the legitimate claims of other immigrants, like Ahmed Abdelbasit – a teacher and father from Union City who could have been deported and executed in Egypt had his lawyer not helped him win asylum.
