Amman: Yarmouk University Vice President, Amjad Al-Nasser, held a meeting with Cheng Yongru, Economic and Commercial Attach© at the Chinese Embassy in Amman, to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation and joint relations between the two entities.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Nasser underlined the university's dedication to expanding partnerships with Chinese academic and economic institutions, aligning with its future goals, and reinforcing the historic friendship between Jordan and China. He elaborated on the university's foundation, its various faculties and research centers, and its significant role in advancing higher education in Jordan.
Al-Nasser mentioned that cooperation with the Chinese Embassy takes multiple forms, including ongoing exchange visits. He highlighted a recent visit by the Chinese Cultural Counselor, who participated in cultural activities organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Amman during the "Mid-Autumn Festival" at Al-Hussein Bin Talal Library. He also noted that Yarmouk University was among the first in Jordan to offer Chinese as a foreign language course, alongside French, Spanish, Turkish, and German, to enhance student employability in various labor markets.
Cheng Yongru emphasized the embassy's commitment to strengthening academic and cultural cooperation with Yarmouk University, a leading institution in Jordan and the Arab world. He reiterated the embassy's aim to establish sustainable partnerships through innovative ideas and joint projects.
