Irbid: Yarmouk University (YU) President Malek Sharairi on Wednesday met with Zainul Arifin, the Director of Indonesia’s Darul Arifin Islamic Institute, to explore ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Sharairi highlighted YU’s efforts to expand partnerships with universities and institutes in Islamic countries and increase student enrollment. He noted the university’s focus on Arabic and Islamic studies and emphasized that students from Islamic countries receive equal tuition treatment as their Jordanian peers.
Sharairi commended the presence of 424 Indonesian students currently enrolled at Yarmouk University, affirming the university’s commitment to preparing them to be ambassadors for Jordan and the university after graduation. He also expressed readiness to cooperate with Darul Arifin under the APSOL platform at the Language Center for Arabic teaching programs.
In response, Zainul Arifin welcomed the joint collaboration and praised YU’s academic reputation and the caliber of Indonesian graduates, particularly in Arabic and Islamic studies. He stressed the potential for launching new partnerships to benefit students and their educational paths.
