Irbid: 32 students have recently embarked on postgraduate studies abroad, sponsored by Yarmouk University (YU), as part of the institution's commitment to advancing its academic and scientific prowess. YU President Dr. Islam Massad announced that these students were sent to prestigious international universities for the academic year 2024/2025, fully funded by the university, with the aim of having them return to contribute to its colleges.
According to Jordan News Agency, this initiative is aligned with YU's strategy to address the needs of its colleges by enhancing the academic qualifications of its faculty through global exposure. Dr. Massad highlighted that the financial commitment for these scholarships amounts to approximately JD1.065 million annually.
Dr. Massad further explained that the university regularly publicizes opportunities for such scholarships through local newspapers and its official website once they receive formal approval. This year, students have been sent to reputed universities in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and Canada.
Emphasizing the university's focus on medical fields, Dr. Massad noted that 9 students from the College of Medicine and 6 students from the College of Pharmacy have been selected for these scholarships, underscoring YU's dedication to enhancing expertise in these critical areas.
