Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin convened to explore collaborative initiatives designed to equip young Jordanians with the necessary skills to thrive in the tourism sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, Adwan reiterated the ministry's focus on developing specialized training programs as part of the youth centers' development plan. The programs will encompass technical skills, life skills, arts, and sports, with the goal of increasing training and employment opportunities for youth in tourism.
Hijazin noted the tourism sector's potential to employ young individuals, citing opportunities in areas such as guiding, hospitality, and entrepreneurial tourism activities. He indicated the ministry's willingness to implement joint programs, positioning youth centers as pivotal training hubs.
The discussion between the ministers also covered the enhancement of tourist facilities and routes, the improvement of youth hostels, the upgrading of staff skills, and the elevation of service quality.
Both ministers committed to drafting a joint action plan that includes training programs, capacity-building initiatives, and the expansion of partnerships with the private sector to foster sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.
