Amman: The non-profit Motivators for Training Company recently concluded the dialogue forum and closing ceremony of the "Resilient Initiatives for Sustainable Engagement" (RISE) project. The event saw significant participation from civil society organizations, youth representatives, and both local and international partners.
According to Jordan News Agency, the RISE project was initiated to address the rising demand for enhanced roles of youth and community organizations in environmental and climate-related actions across five governorates: Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Karak, and Ajloun. Jihad Sawaeir, an adviser for technical and international affairs at the Ministry of Environment, emphasized the necessity of genuine partnerships among the government, civil society, and youth to tackle environmental and climate challenges effectively. He pointed out that the transformation of awareness into practical actions and initiatives is crucial for successful environmental policies.
Sawaeir also underlined the need for continued backing of youth-led initiatives to boost environmental awareness and further the Sustainable Development Goals. He acknowledged the ministry's efforts to fortify national and international partnerships in the environmental sector, praising the role of collaborators and supporters in ensuring the project's triumph.
Badi Baqaeen, Founder and CEO of Motivators for Training Company, explained that the RISE project was carried out in collaboration with the Center for Development Services and CRISP, with financial backing from the German Federal Foreign Office. The initiative aimed to build the capacities of youth and empower them to spearhead sustainable community projects in climate change and environmental sustainability.
Baqaeen highlighted that the project concentrated on converting knowledge into actionable steps through youth-led initiatives in areas such as recycling, sustainable agriculture, resource conservation, and environmental awareness. These efforts support climate adaptation and enhance community engagement.
During the ceremony, a documentary film was showcased, illustrating the project's implementation phases from its inception in September 2025 to its conclusion in May 2026. Presentations of six youth-led initiatives, supported and funded under the project, were also featured. The forum included specialized dialogue sessions aimed at bolstering cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and developing partnership mechanisms between official institutions and civil society organizations to optimize the implementation of national environmental policies.
The event culminated in a discussion session, allowing participants and partners to share expertise and explore future collaboration opportunities.
