Beirut: At least 16 people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting multiple towns on Tuesday evening. The attacks affected areas near the city of Sidon, including Barja, Jiyeh, Horatalla, and Talia. According to Jordan News Agency, 10 people lost their lives and 10 others sustained injuries when Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the town of Barja. Efforts to clear the rubble and search for missing individuals are ongoing, as reported by a Lebanese security source speaking to Petra's correspondent in Beirut. The security source further noted that a woman was killed in the town of Jiyeh, located at the entrance to Sidon, following another airstrike. Additionally, five people were killed and one person was injured in airstrikes on the towns of Horatalla and Talia, both located in the Bekaa region.
