Amman: The selling price for one gram of 21-karat gold, the most sought-after by citizens in the local market, stood at JD88.6 for selling purposes from jewelry shops on Saturday, compared to JD84.5 for buybacks.
According to Jordan News Agency, the selling prices per gram for 24-karat and 18-karat gold from jewelry shops reached JD101.6 and JD78.4, respectively.
President of the General Syndicate for Owners of Trading Shops and Gold and Jewelry Goldsmiths, Rebhi Allan, reported that the selling price of the 7-gram Rashadi lira reached JD620, while the 8-gram English lira reached JD708. Allan highlighted that local market demand for gold jewelry for marriage purposes remains good, while demand for gold ounces and bullion is moderate.
He further explained that the yellow metal closed its weekly trading in the global market on Friday with a clear increase, recording $4,340 per ounce, marking a $300 increase compared to the previous week.
