Amman: The Ministry of Social Development issued its achievements report for last December on Tuesday, highlighting its key services. The report outlines the ministry's efforts in addressing social and economic challenges faced by various segments of the population.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry received 7,991 applications for issuing health insurance cards and 149 requests for exemptions from medical expenses. The report also detailed efforts to settle 130 inheritance cases and process 2,056 applications for work permit exemptions. Additionally, 35 children were admitted to residential care homes, with 39 others being discharged. Six beneficiaries were placed with foster families, and five new nurseries received licenses.
The report further indicated that 197 women and children availed services from the Family and Juvenile Protection Department. In juvenile rehabilitation and training centers, 268 juveniles benefited from various services, with 96 participating in professional rehabilitation programs. For working children, 62 received psychological and social services, while 792 individuals benefited from social service offices in correctional and rehabilitation centers.
In terms of organizational activities, the report highlighted that the cumulative number of registered associations reached 6,037. During the period, 27 new associations were registered, and 330 requests to amend associations' regulations were processed. The report noted the dissolution of 15 associations, completion of tasks by five temporary bodies, and the issuance of 51 warnings to associations.
The Anti-Vagrancy Directorate conducted 524 operations, resulting in the apprehension of 671 beggars. The National Aid Fund (NAF) reported that 50,044 families benefited from the monthly financial aid program. Additionally, 19,887 families received support through the Unified Cash Assistance Program, and 517 households participated in training sessions. The response rate to calls received by the fund reached 100%.
