AMMAN: Subscriptions to 5G services recorded a significant increase of 37% during the third quarter of 2024, according to the latest indicators released by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Monday. The surge underscores the rapid adoption of advanced communication technologies in the region. According to Jordan News Agency, the total number of mobile broadband subscribers reached approximately 8 million by mid-year. This figure highlights the growing trend of embracing new technologies and the increasing demand for high-speed mobile internet services across the kingdom. The report noted that the number of mobile 5G subscriptions rose to over 70,000 during the third quarter. This growth has been supported by the deployment of more than 2,300 5G towers nationwide, marking a substantial enhancement in the network's infrastructure. These developments are expected to bring faster internet speeds and improved connectivity to users. Looking ahead, the TRC projects that 5G services will cover more than 50% of the population by early 2027. This projection underscores ongoing efforts to expand network accessibility and connectivity, reflecting the commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure across the kingdom.
