626 Tourists Visit Southern Mazar Shrines During Eid Holiday

Amman: 626 tourists of various nationalities visited the shrines of Prophet Mohammad's companions in the Southern Mazar area in southern Karak governorate during the Eid al-Adha holiday, marking a significant turnout.

According to Jordan News Agency, out of the total figure, 130 Arab tourists visited the attractions while 350 tourists from other nationalities flocked to the sites. This indicates the religious and touristic importance of these venerable shrines.

In a statement on Wednesday, Awqaf Director of Southern Mazar District, Dr. Ahmed Shamaileh, said the Companions' shrines receive widespread attention from visitors on every religious holiday and occasion. Shamaileh noted that the sites are crucial religious tourist attractions in the district, drawing hundreds of visitors annually who are interested in Islamic history and religious monuments.

Shamaileh commended the role of local municipalities in providing the necessary facilitation to welcome visitors, which contributed to easing the flow of visitors and enhancing their travel experience.
