For his part, Chuandong said his country’s embassy will announce, on its official website, the new facilitations approved by the Chinese government to allow traders and businesspeople to obtain a visit visa to China.

In this regard, he said the requirement of an official Chinese government invitation to obtain a visit visa is scrapped and is replaced by a Chinese partner’s invitation to Jordanian traders.

The envoy also referred to accreditation of any accredited medical lab in the Kingdom to issue a Covid-19 test report for travelers to China, pointing to the possibility of reducing the institutional quarantine period after arrival from 14 to 7 days and three days in the hotel as a first step towards China’s gradual resumption to contacts with the world.

As for the stay period in China, he said it depends on the visit’s goals and the number of trips allowed, pointing to availability of regular flights on multiple airlines, especially from Dubai, Istanbul and Cairo directly to China, in addition to some European airports.

The envoy also said the Chinese embassy’s economic and commercial section will cooperate with Amman Chamber of Commerce to facilitate procedures to obtain a visa by granting letters of recommendation to its members interested in traveling to China to pursue their businesses.

Chinese government will exert efforts with its owned freight companies to reduce their wages as much as possible to cover the operational costs, and remove any obstacles facing shipping movement to and from China, according to Chuandong.

Continuing: “China welcomes importing more Jordanian products and increasing Chinese investments in the kingdom, as it views the Kingdom a gateway to the markets of nearby Arab countries.”
