Aqaba: Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) has signed a three-year strategic partnership agreement with the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF). The agreement is set to support Arabic language education under the national "Iqra-Read" program, which is centered on the "Inclusive Libraries" model.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement includes the provision of a public school in Aqaba with a modern, integrated library, featuring advanced learning resources. These resources are designed to enhance students' Arabic reading skills within an attractive and stimulating environment.
During the signing ceremony, ACT CEO Harald Nijhoff emphasized that the company believes sustainable impact begins with education. He noted that the partnership with QRF reflects a joint commitment to empowering youth in the local community. Nijhoff highlighted that this vision is realized by investing in developing Arabic reading skills and creating inclusive learning environments under the "Iqra" program to prepare a generation of change-makers.
QRF CEO Bassem Saad also underscored the importance of this partnership within the "Iqra" program, which provides high-quality reading resources in Arabic. Saad stated that this initiative is a significant step in building a strong educational foundation and reflects a shared belief that educational equity begins within the community through genuine partnerships aimed at building a brighter future.
