Cairo:Aghadeer Jweihan, Director General of the Princess Taghreed Institute, has been elected to the board of directors of the Council of Arab Businesswomen (CABW) for the 2026-2030 term. This election took place during the council's general assembly meeting at the Arab League headquarters, attended by various Arab leaders and important figures.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was presided over by Her Highness Sheikha Hessa Al-Sabah, chairwoman of the CABW board. Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy, former Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa, and several notable officials and women leaders were also present.
Jweihan's election is part of a broader effort to bolster Jordanian participation in the Arab economic system, strengthen the presence of Jordanian women in decision-making roles, and promote cooperation and partnership among businesswomen across Arab nations. This initiative aims to support economic integration and sustainable development.
The CABW serves as a platform to enhance the role of women in the economy by supporting their economic empowerment, increasing their participation in commercial and investment activities, and expanding their market access. It also focuses on women's involvement in economic decision-making at both national and regional levels.
The council facilitates communication and networking among businesswomen and investment experts in Arab countries, promoting the exchange of successful experiences and the development of economic partnerships. These efforts include facilitating market access, promoting financial inclusion, and creating a supportive environment for project growth.
Jordan's involvement in the board is expected to strengthen cooperation between Jordanian economic empowerment institutions and their Arab counterparts, fostering joint initiatives to support women's entrepreneurship.
