Amman: The Lower House Agriculture and Water Committee called on Monday for faster implementation of water projects and stronger infrastructure to address persistent supply challenges across the Kingdom. Lawmakers emphasized that water security remains a national priority, urging improved management of water resources, quicker responses to public complaints, and accelerated project delivery.
According to Jordan News Agency, the committee reviewed complaints from residents in Mafraq and Jerash concerning water shortages and intermittent supply. Water Authority of Jordan's Secretary General, Sufyan Bataineh, stated that the Ministry of Water and Irrigation is directly addressing the issues in Mafraq, with expectations of resolution within the week. He further mentioned that the ministry has established a hotline for water service complaints to ensure faster response and follow-up.
