AMMAN: Palestinian President's Advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash has commended Jordan for its significant diplomatic and humanitarian contributions to the Palestinian cause amid ongoing conflict in Gaza. Al-Habbash highlighted Jordan's continuous support through diplomatic channels and relief efforts as a key factor in addressing the crisis in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Habbash described Jordan's efforts in 2024 as "historic," emphasizing the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in advancing the Palestinian cause in both regional and international forums. He noted that while the Israeli occupation's continued actions in Gaza have dominated the narrative of the year, Jordan's proactive role in providing humanitarian aid and relief has been "distinguished and strongly present."
The advisor highlighted Jordan's commitment to the Palestinian people through the dispatch of relief convoys and the establishment of field hospitals in Gaza. These efforts have been crucial in meeting the medical needs of the region's affected population. In addition to ground support, Jordan also conducted several airdrops to deliver aid efficiently to the coastal enclave.
Beyond humanitarian aid, Al-Habbash praised Jordan's diplomatic initiatives, particularly its backing of the Palestinian stance at the United Nations. He attributed this success to Jordan's extensive and respected network of international relationships, which has been instrumental in conveying and supporting the Palestinian narrative on the global stage.
Al-Habbash also underscored Jordan's dedication to the preservation of Jerusalem's holy sites under Hashemite guardianship. He acknowledged Jordan's successful efforts in protecting Islamic and Christian sanctities, thereby preserving their Arab identity amid ongoing regional challenges.
