The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) continued its crackdown on drug dealers and promoters and arrested a number of suspects involved in drug-related promotion and trafficking cases in various governorates.
Media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said AND agents have arrested the suspects over the past few days with different amounts of narcotics seized in their possession.
In the first case, a suspect was arrested in Irbid governorate with 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine and half a kilo of industrial cannabis powder in his possession.
Also in Irbid city, a drug trafficker was arrested and 5,000 Captagon pills, 3 palm-sized sheets of cannabis and half a kilo of crystal meth were seized.
In Balqa governorate, a drug dealer was arrested and 171 grams of crystal meth was seized in his possession.
In central Badia, a person selling and promoting narcotics was arrested with a bag containing 150 grams of cocaine and a quantity of narcotic pills.
A drug dealer in the capital’s southern region was also nabbed with 5 kg of narcotic crystal meth and packs filled with quantities of the same substance prepared for sale, in addition to a fake amount of cash.
Also, 900 bags packed with industrial cannabis (Joker) were seized and prepared for sale in the possession of a promoter in the capital. All persons involved in these cases were referred to the State Security Court (SSC), the PSD spokesperson said.
