Anti-Narcotics Department’s (AND) agents continued their intensive efforts to track down and raid hideouts of drug dealers and promoters.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said AND carried out raids during the past 24 hours, which led to arresting four drug dealers and traders in the capital Amman and North Shouna district.

In the capital, an AND special investigation team manhunted three dangerous people suspected of selling narcotic substances.

When spotting their whereabouts, the three people wielded guns at the security force, the PSD said, adding that one fired shots, who were all dealt with, according to the rules of engagement and arrested.

Firearms in their possession were seized, in addition to a quantity of narcotic substances prepared for sale, the spokesperson added.

In North Shouneh, an AND security force raided and arrested a highly wanted man for trafficking and promoting narcotic drugs, and quantities of narcotic pills were seized in his possession.

The PSD confirmed continuation of its intensive efforts and “qualitative” operations in tracking down suspects involved in drug trafficking cases countrywide.

To date, the directorate’s security procedures have paid off in countering drug dealers and promoters, and is resolved to bring them to justice, the spokesperson said.
