Amman: Jordan Customs Department’s Anti-Smuggling Directorate, in cooperation with security agencies, seized on Thursday 13,100 cartons of smuggled cigarettes along with 2,130 e-cigarettes, 13,800 packs of e-liquids and vape juices, 610 kilograms of hookah tobacco, and 8,250 cigars in two separate cases.

According to Jordan News Agency, the department stated that the confiscated items were placed under custody pending legal action. These items pose serious health risks to citizens and negatively impact the national economy by entering the local market without meeting Jordanian standards or being cleared by health regulatory authorities.

The department has called on citizens to report any suspicions of smuggling or harmful and counterfeit goods that could harm the national economy. Citizens are encouraged to use the toll-free number 105 to report such activities.
