Amman: Jordan on Wednesday condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s signing of the E1 settlement plan agreement and his recent remarks rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs spokesperson Sufian Qudah described the settlement plan and accompanying statements as a violation of international law, a serious blow to the two-state solution, and a direct assault on the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of the E1 plan and all unilateral Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, noting that such measures are considered illegal under international law. He cited UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns Israeli efforts to alter the demographic composition, character, and status of Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.

He referenced the International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion, which reaffirmed the necessity of ending the occupation and nullifying any annexation of occupied Palestinian land. Qudah warned that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories and cautioned against the Israeli government’s expansionist policies, which he described as provocative and destabilizing.

Qudah condemned the rhetoric of the Israeli Prime Minister and other officials, warning that such statements fuel violence, prolong conflict, and pose a threat to regional and international peace and security. He called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities, to compel Israel to end its aggression against Gaza, and halt its escalations in the occupied West Bank.

He urged the international community to protect the Palestinian people and support their right to establish an independent state on their national soil, emphasizing that the only path to a just and comprehensive peace lies in ending the occupation and achieving a two-state solution that guarantees security and stability for all.
