Anti-Smuggling Directorate Shuts Down Illegal Lab Producing Counterfeit Medicines

Amman: The Anti-Smuggling Directorate at the Jordan Customs Department has dismantled an unlicensed laboratory involved in the production of counterfeit pharmaceuticals bearing internationally recognized brand names.

According to Jordan News Agency, the operation followed an extensive investigation and digital surveillance of a website promoting the fake products, which were confirmed to be counterfeit and pose significant health risks to the public.

A detailed seizure report was compiled, and the confiscated items were handed over to the competent authorities for further legal action.

The department stressed that safeguarding public health remains a top priority and urged the public to avoid purchasing or using products of unknown origin. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities via the hotline (105).
