Aqaba: The Aqaba Chamber of Commerce engaged in discussions with investors regarding the planning of an International Ramadan Exhibition in Aqaba. The event aims to feature foodstuffs and consumer products to bolster the local market and alleviate living expenses for citizens.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting at the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce outlined the primary aspects of the exhibition, which will be hosted on land owned by Al-Shaab Mall. The site encompasses approximately eight dunums next to the mall, providing an integrated space to accommodate participation from various companies and institutions.
Raed Marqa, Director of Al-Shaab Mall branches, stated that the exhibition aligns with Al-Shaab Mall's strategy to support citizens by offering essential goods at cost prices. The event is expected to include around 60 companies, featuring major food and related sectors, marking it as the first exhibition of its kind in the Aqaba Governorate.
Marqa highlighted that the exhibition will implement a direct-selling approach, offering fair purchasing options for citizens, visitors, and shoppers, thus easing economic pressures during Ramadan. The site will be equipped with necessary technical and logistical facilities, including parking and organizational services, ensuring a safe and convenient shopping environment for 40 days. Spaces will be allocated for participating companies, contributing to reduced costs of goods for citizens.
Investor Ammar Enaya mentioned that a significant portion of the exhibition space will be offered free to charitable organizations and community institutions, such as the King Hussein Cancer Center, to support their activities and resource development. The organizers also plan to distribute 100 free food vouchers to families in need, reinforcing the humanitarian aspect of the initiative.
Vice President of the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce Ahmed Al-Kiswani, alongside chamber members Salameh Al-Maaytah and Osama Abu Taleb, underscored the exhibition's importance. They view it as a model for merging social responsibility with large commercial endeavors, enabling citizens to shop at reduced prices. They stressed the urgency of implementing the exhibition to attract visitors from various governorates, boosting Aqaba's commercial markets and enhancing economic activity during Ramadan.
