Aqaba: The 11th annual Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Conference commenced in Aqaba, under the patronage of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin. The event marks the launch of the world's largest business-to-business (B2B) destination wedding platform, attracting nearly 500 industry leaders from over 70 countries to the Red Sea city.
According to Jordan News Agency, the conference is organized by QnA International in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Jordan Tourism Board. The event aims to position Aqaba as a center for creativity, collaboration, and innovation in the luxury wedding industry. Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Shadi Majali, expressed pride in hosting the world's leading destination wedding planners, highlighting Aqaba as a celebration of creativity, luxury, and the art of turning dreams into reality.
Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, emphasized that hosting the conference is a strategic move to enhance Jordan's prominence on the global tourism map. He outlined the Kingdom's potential as an ideal destination for luxury weddings and reaffirmed the board's commitment to supporting the wedding industry as a vital sector that strengthens the national tourism economy.
Arabiyat also noted that Jordan boasts about 15 exceptional historical sites suitable for hosting events, ranging from ancient ruins to scenic coastal locations, providing a unique platform for celebrations inspired by history. He stressed that hosting the conference in Aqaba elevates Jordan's global standing in this specialized field and underscores the board's dedication to establishing the Kingdom as a premier destination for luxury celebrations.
