Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Aboul-Gheit Friday welcomed the Sudanese armed forced and Rapid Support Forces’ signing of Jeddah Declaration and commitment to protecting civilians in Sudan and opening safe humanitarian corridors for aid access.
In a statement, Aboul-Gheit stressed the necessity of full respect of the pledges mentioned in the declaration to stop the bloodshed and pave the way for a permanent and full ceasefire.
Aboul-Gheit extolled the US-Saudi efforts in this regard and the Kingdom’s hosting of the intra-Sudanese talks.
