Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti inaugurated the conference hall and lecture theater at the Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Jordan. The event saw the presence of the university's president, Nathir Obeidat. According to Jordan News Agency, Huneiti was briefed by Obeidat on the university's history, recent developments, academic programs, and its strategic plan aimed at positioning itself as a leading international institution in innovation, research, and community service. Emphasizing the crucial role of higher education, Huneiti highlighted its importance in preparing Jordanian youth for the demands of both local and global job markets and the necessity of collaboration between the armed forces and the university. Obeidat articulated the vision of integrating military expertise with modern sciences, as envisioned by the Supreme Commander. He emphasized the armed forces' focus on blending militar y sciences with other disciplines to ensure a knowledgeable and well-equipped military. His Majesty King Abdullah II's efforts to introduce advanced technologies have bolstered the military institution's capacity to align with global advancements. Expressing pride in the collaboration with the armed forces, Obeidat particularly highlighted the establishment of the Cybersecurity Center at the university, which serves as a training hub through joint programs. Brigadier General Mustafa Hiyari, Director of Military Media, underscored the armed forces' significant contributions to Jordan's developmental projects, including educational and technological initiatives. The Cyber Shield Academy, established under the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) at the university, exemplifies this collaboration through its cybersecurity and artificial intelligence diploma programs. Hassan Momani, Dean of the Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II School of Political Science and International Studies, noted the university's role as a center for development, education, and growth, supported by the Jordanian Armed Forces. Their collaboration has been instrumental in building vital national pillars under the Hashemite leadership. The ceremony, attended by senior military officers, university vice presidents, and members of the Deans' Council, concluded with Maj. Gen. Huneiti writing a note in the guestbook. In a related visit, he toured the "Cyber Shield" Academy, receiving a briefing on its services and initiatives since 2019. The academy aims to create opportunities for Jordanian youth and establish strategic partnerships to advance cybersecurity.
