Amman, The armed forces Sunday thwarted an illegal border crossing of a group of non-Jordanians into a “neighbouring” country, according to an official at the Armed Forces.
The source said armed forces of the southern military region, in coordination with the Directorate of Military Security, detected an attempt of a group of people to cross the border from Jordanian territory to the territory of what the source described as a “neighbouring” country, prompting border patrols to engage and arrest the infiltrators.
The source confirmed that the Armed Forces would respond with “force and firmness” with illegal crossing or smuggling attempts.
