Aqaba: Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) have signed a cooperation agreement to implement food and community support programs for households and children in the Aqaba governorate. The agreement, effective for the 2026-2027 period, includes a sustainable food support program and campaigns such as "Back to School" and winter support initiatives.
According to Jordan News Agency, ASEZA Chairman Shadi Majali highlighted the authority's dedication to fostering partnerships with national institutions and civil society organizations in Aqaba. Majali emphasized the importance of training and empowering the local youth, with initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of families and children, thereby supporting vulnerable groups and creating social value in the region.
Karima Aldabet, ASEZA Vice-Chair and Commissioner for Financial and Administrative Affairs, stressed the significance of the partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali. She described it as a model of integration among national institutions, enhancing the social responsibility framework. Aldabet underscored the authority's commitment to its social, developmental, and economic responsibilities, advocating for the sustainability of such partnerships to improve service quality and support for beneficiary families.
Samer Balqar, Director General of TUA, confirmed the organization's commitment to executing the agreed-upon programs and initiatives. The package aims to sponsor several beneficiary families for one year, providing monthly food parcels. Balqar explained that the agreement includes a "Back to School" campaign, offering school bags, supplies, uniforms, and food items for children, alongside a winter campaign supplying coats and blankets to children in need.
The agreement also involves ASEZA volunteers in the program's execution and monitoring of aid distribution, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring support reaches the targeted groups.
