Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation cracked down on multiple illegal connections tapping main supply pipelines across southern Amman and Aqaba on Wednesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, inspection teams uncovered a 2-inch illegal line in Dhuheibah and four illegal connections in Tur Al-Hashash in the south of Amman. Crews also dismantled 13 illegal taps in Quweira, Aqaba, which were diverting water to private farms and homes.
Technical squads swiftly repaired the damaged mainlines and removed all unauthorized taps, the ministry reported. Official violation reports have been filed to initiate legal proceedings against the offenders.
